Companies are now looking to digitize their marketing and PR strategies and wont spend money on traditional media.

There is one thing we need to understand first - the CEO or CFO of any company has the needs of their product and/or services at heart. They care about the company and making profits so they can look good to their investors. BUT, the CEO or CFO is a person first. And these people love to see themselves and their products in traditional media. Over the last year, I am in a position of being editor of InBound Magazine. It is a printed magazine available at airport lounges and on SAA flights. If we approached 20 companies, 10 will advertise and of these 10, only 1 will want to be on our website.

People still love traditional media and for as long as I can do this job, I will reserve my right to persuade my clients to earn the bragging rights of seeing themselves on TV, radio and in print as well. I am not knocking down digital spaces. In fact, we pitch our clients to digital magazines and websites as well. But a lot of companies still prefer the old traditional way.
